Macro Takumar 50 f/4 ...

Or, in other words, the consequences of my last LBA crisis ...

Macro Takumar 50 4 - _IGP4823

A few weeks ago i had the chance to play with the SMC Macro Takumar 50/4 of a friend. After looking at the results, i decided that this one was (one of) the lens(es) i was looking for ... Thus, the acquisition of a Macro Takumar 50/4.

Macro Takumar 50 4 - _IGP4822

As you can guess from the picture, this is not the common 1:2 ratio, but it is the preset version, able to reach the 1:1 reproduction ratio without extra accessories. Another difference with the "classic" 1:2 model is its star-shaped diaphragm a la Helios-40, composed of 8 blades instead of 5.

If you want to see some sample pictures, feel free to browse to this set in my Flickr photostream ... Actually there are only pictures of this lens, but it is going to grow ...

Porst WW 35 f/1.8 MC: New lens on the ... camera ...

It has been a few weeks since i bought my last 35mm, a Porst WW 35/1.8 MC in M42 mount.

Porst WW 35 1.8 MC - _IGP4799

Finally, i have been able to test it for a while, in one of my preferred places in Toulouse.

The lens has been a nice surprise. It doesn't have the same contrast as a Flektogon 35/2.4, at least wide open, indeed it is quite easy to focus, probably because of the reduced DOF. On my K10D, with a Katzeye focusing screen and an O-ME53 magnifier, i have missed only three pictures out of 21.

At first, a sample shot with the lens wide open, to test for sharpness and CA:

Then, a sample for the bokeh at f/2.8:

A set with other full-resolution pictures is available, as usual, on my Flickr photostream here.

Some lenses for sale ...

This is my first post the first of the month. I hope that such scaring will not appear here really often (some of you know that i'm seriously affected by LBA) ...

A friend of mine, a professional seller, recently asked me to sell some of his lenses, because he no longer have the time to take sample pictures of the lenses he's selling nor he has the time to setup a site for sales ...
Thus, we made an arrangement: i keep some of his lenses for three or four weeks for testing (and eventually, selling), he uses my pictures to promote his sales ;-) ...

For now, i have a few of them available.

At first, an EBC Fujinon Macro 55 f3.5, with its original extension tube for 1:1 ratio, its caps and its original housing:

EBC Fujinon Macro 55 3.5 - _IGP4229

Then, a Meyer Görlitz Oreston 50/1.8:

The whole set of lenses for sale is available on my Flickr photostream here ...

Up to now there are two lenses only, but others (as well as sample pictures taken with my DSLRs) will be added during the next few days ...
